Rancho Cucamonga Woman’s Club.
In early 1908, thirteen women of the Cucamonga area met with the idea of starting a woman’s club. Later in 1908 the club joined the California Federation of Women’s Clubs and in 1933 it became a member of the national organization, The General Federation of Woman’s Clubs in
Meetings were held in member’s homes for many years, but outgrowing this arrangement and exhausting the available facilities, the club, in conjunction with The Men’s Service Club of Cucamonga purchased the Sweeten Hall facility in the mid 1950’s. In 1983 the Men’s Club purchased the Woman’s Club’s share of the property. A building fund has been established for the purchase of a future meeting facility. In the meantime the interest from the money allows the club to donate to many projects. Our meetings are currently held at the

WHAT DOES THE RANCHO CUCAMONGA WOMAN'S CLUB DO?
We are very proud to have donated $10,000.00 to the City of Rancho Cucamonga to sponsor the Jane Austen Study room in the new cultural center in honor of our 100th anniversary.
We provide Scholarships for local high schools and
We are also actively involved in citizenship, legislation, health, safety, gerontology, performing and visual arts, spiritual values and educational programs.
We send local high school students to The HOBY foundation camps, We donate money for Canine Companions, Santa Claus, Inc. and numerous other worthy organizations. We contribute food and financial assistance to SOVA. Our conservation efforts include collecting Pennies for Pines, planting trees in our parks,(including our grove of trees we’ve planted in Red Hill park in honor of our past club presidents) and recycling. We collect pulltabs for The Ronald McDonald House in Loma Linda and needed items for the Veterans at Jerry Pettis Veterans Hospital in Redlands. We wrapped and filled over 125 shoeboxes for the Samaritans Purse Operation Christmas Child and collect items year-round for this project.
Our crafts and service committees make and donate such items as bibs and lap robes to the disabled veterans hospitals, booties & caps for newborn babies at local hospitals and craft items for our fundraising boutiques.
Our literature section donates books, magazines and time to our local library and offers financial support as well.
Social Activities include our monthly luncheon meetings (Sept. thru June) at the Alta Laguna Mobile Home Community clubhouse, cards and games gatherings, day trips, picnics and numerous other outings.
